For over two decades, a high-quality round bending machine from Faccin has been the backbone of production at Kurt Willig GmbH & Co. KG. It manufactures precision rolled metal parts that play a crucial role in the production of tank vehicles for the petroleum industry.

In 1999, Kurt Willig GmbH & Co. KG approached Volker Gusdorf, the then managing director of the German subsidiary of the Faccin Group, with the goal of acquiring a rolling solution that would simplify production and optimize manufacturing processes. The aim was to achieve higher efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and consistent precision in output.
With a rich history dating back to 1970, Kurt Willig GmbH & Co. KG has evolved into a respected manufacturer of high-quality tank vehicles and their components, covering a wide range of metal applications. The company is known as a specialist in the field of class 3 ADR aluminum tank vehicles and stands at the forefront of the European market.
In addition to its headquarters in Straubing and Hunderdorf, Willig operates additional branches in Germany. Moreover, its influence extends beyond national borders, with a branch in the Czech Republic and another in Poland. With a dedicated team of 250 employees, Willig is committed to providing professional services and maintaining its position as a leading player in the industry.
Armin Groß, the production manager at Willig, was in search of a reliable sheet rolling machine that could meet the growing demands of future production. The machine had to meet a variety of bending requirements, including both cylindrical and multi-radius shapes. Additionally, it needed to ensure the manufacture of consistently high-quality parts and components.
The main goal was to identify the most suitable machines from the extensive product portfolio of the Faccin Group. "We worked with Volker Gusdorf of Faccin to conduct an analysis of our product to best align the appropriate Faccin equipment with our forming requirements," said Groß.
The 4HEL-3128 model from Faccin is a linear-guided four-roll bending machine. It features a pre-bending function, so the sheet does not need to be pre-bent on a different machine, and a rear side roll for precise and immediate sheet alignment. The sheet can be securely held between the two central rolls, ensuring safety and accuracy during the rolling process.
Four-roll plate bending machines guarantee higher productivity and are easier to operate, as users always maintain control over the plate. After years of reliable productivity, the four-roll round bending machine was upgraded to the latest Siemens CNC version.
The linear design of the Faccin sheet rolling machine has increased the production capacities and versatility of Willig's production and covers a wide range of applications. "Everything was implemented to best meet our needs and requirements to ensure that our production is high-quality and efficient to keep moving forward," said Groß. "Within 4 days, the machine was upgraded to current hardware, making it future-proof. Additionally, the current CNC has increased the overall efficiency of this machine in our plant and elevated the quality to a new level. This, in turn, enhances the efficiency of the manufacturing process in subsequent production steps." The Faccin bending machine is one of the most important systems in the manufacturing process, playing a crucial role in maintaining and increasing productivity.
