May 04, 2023Watch live: Kamala Harris, Tim Walz rally in Ann Arbor
Democratic presidential nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris made campaign stops this afternoon in Saginaw County and Macomb County, and will cap with an event tonight in Ann Arbor, where she'll be joined by vice presidential running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, and singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers.
You can watch the Ann Arbor event live in the video player above (or tap here).
The latest Michigan trip comes eight days before the presidential election on Nov. 5 to be decided between Harris and Republican former President Donald Trump. But the decision to come to Ann Arbor − home to the University of Michigan − means Harris is trying to make a strong pitch to younger, college-age voters. Rogers released a new album this year titled, "Don't Forget Me."

Harris is expected to speak in Ann Arbor at about 7:15 p.m. Before that, she had a stop at 2:20 p.m. at a company that makes materials for semiconductors west of Saginaw that last week was awarded up to $325 million in federal funding for a new facility, then a 5:20 p.m. stop at a union training facility in Macomb County. (As anyone who tracks campaign events knows, these times are estimates.)
Harris has been spending a great deal of time in Michigan, a key battleground state, of late. On Oct. 18, she held three events before campaigning Oct. 19 in southeastern Michigan with rapper Lizzo. Last week, she was in Oakland County with Republican former U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney, then campaigned in Kalamazoo on Saturday with former first lady Michelle Obama. Trump's been busy in the state, too, having most recently held events in Traverse City on Friday night and in Novi on Saturday.
